A True 24 Hours For Rouen in 2020?

John Moore on 24th April 2019

Franque-Emmanuel Coupard, President of the Rouen Yacht Club and organiser of the 24 Heures Motonautiques de Rouen has been expressing his wishes to Tendance Ouest that next year’s race should revert to its original uninterrupted 24 hour format.

The race this year will be staged over 2 days, Session 1 will be held next Tuesday, (30 April) from 10:00 – 01:00 CET with Session 2 on Wednesday, (01 May) from 07:00 – 16:00 CET.

However, Coupard hopes that the race can be run without a 6 hour break over night next year:

We hope this can be done next year.

In principle, everyone is convinced that we have to come back to it, whether it is in 2020, in 2021 or after.

Negotiations are ongoing on between us, the council and the water authorities.

I must realise the idea to implementation, although for the moment nothing is sure.
