Andy Elliott has passed away

John Moore on 26th August 2020

Andy Elliott passed away in a London hospital at 04.20 this morning.

He had been admitted to hospital at the beginning of August after collapsing at a friend’s house after taking an afternoon walk.

Elliott was airlifted to London where he underwent surgery for an aneurysm on the brain.

The 64 year old who won the World Championship in every circuit class except F1H2o, had two more operations and was placed into a medically induced coma from which he didn’t recover.

Since retiring from racing in 2010, Elliott has been a familiar face as an informed spectator at powerboat races across the world.

Thoughts go to his sisters Maxine Field, Michelle and Patricia Elliot, his former racing team members, Richard Wood and Keith Whittle and raceboat builder, Dave Burgess.

The legend has gone but the memories will live on.
