Arran Scott confirms P1 Superstock entry

John Moore on 12th April 2016

Arran Scott from Poole, driving for the Absolute Aqua Powerboat Race team has confirmed he will be competing in the 2016 Powerboat P1 Superstock Championship.

Competing in five events across the UK, Scott will be driving his 28ft Panther with the aim of taking the championship title.

With the final event based in Bournemouth starting Friday the 3rd of September, Scott hopes his home water advantage will pay off!

Last year’s campaign started well for Scott, whilst being sponsored by Allam Marine he put in some stunning performances at the opening event at Scarborough, securing him a second place in the championship and identifying him as one of the favourites.

The second event, in a very rough Gosport saw more great driving, winning three out of four races (on the water) that should have given the team a comfortable lead in the championship.

Unfortunately their season was full of drama, including two disqualifications for losing parts of his boat and breaking his engine from the back of the boat whilst leading in Bournemouth.

However the most spectacular was on the second day of the Hull event, where at speeds exceeding 60mph Scott’s boat flipped, throwing he and his co-pilot into the Humber, (as featured on BBC One – Sea City program).

This year the team are racing under race number 99 and boasts sponsorship from insurance brokers Author J Gallagher with Phil Dyer overseeing Team Manager duties.

With the first race taking place in Scarborough on the 14th May, Scott is yet to confirm his co-pilot and is still pursuing further team sponsors.

If anyone has any interest in sponsorship or being involved with the team, please do contact Arran Scott at info.absoluteaqua@gmail.com
