Ben Jelf looks to establish himself amongst the pack with solid performance in China

Ben Jelf has only tackled three Grand Prix to date but the young Briton is keen to establish himself amongst the F1H2O elite and is counting the days to his first appearance in China at this weekend’s Grand Prix of Zhengzhou.

The 22-year-old teams up with veteran Duarte Benavente in the F1 Atlantic Team and is keen to put the engine issues he endured in Indonesia firmly to the back of his mind.

“I’m looking forward to getting back in the boat and hopefully getting some championship points on the table,” said Jelf. “The team worked effortlessly in Indonesia to solve the problem, but the weather then caused the race to be curtailed, so I’m looking forward to getting some more lap times and we will see where we can finish.

“I’ve got the best team behind me and the support we receive every race is just immense. I’ve never been to China so I am really looking forward to the experience and just hope I can do the team proud.”

Grand Prix of Zhengzhou, China on-water action gets underway with a two-hour extra free practice session from 14.00hrs (local time) on Friday.
