Bermuda Trio to compete in British Offshore

John Moore on 6th June 2018

Errin Butterfield, Shaki Easton and M’kai Hodsoll from Bermuda will be racing in the Fortitudo Property Poole Bay 100 race on Sunday.

This will be the first time that competitors from the British Overseas Territory have ever competed in Offshore Racing in the United Kingdom.

Butterfield and Easton won Bermuda’s 2017 Rubis Around the Island Race in a Mercury powered Phantom 19G and had considerable success with the hull last season.

On Sunday, Easton will be driving a similar set-up, although Hodsoll will be pointing the way around the 71.4Nm Poole Bay course.

Butterfield will have the unenviable task of sitting behind Kerry Bobin in a Twister cat.

Bobin who formed the United Kingdom Offshore Powerboat Racing Association (UKOPRA) to reinvigorate the sport in Britain, will have his work cut out in Class 3 A / B, where he will be up against 10 other teams.
