Brigada’s UIM F2 comeback

John Moore on 22nd February 2018
Ivan Brigada is making a sensational return to racing this year and will be campaigning a F2 BaBa hull under the Gordon Cook Racing banner.

The Italian who competed in the UIM F1H2o series for 9 seasons is a seriously quick driver, on his last racing comeback he won the 2014 UIM F2 European Championship with one heat to spare – That was after a 3 year sabbatical from powerboat racing.

Brigada exclusively told Powerboat Racing World today:

It’s been a long time and I’m really looking forward to getting back into a cockpit!
It hasn’t been easy to find a good solution with good people.
When Gordon Cook Racing showed me his project, I saw a team with people that had lots of passion and one of the highest levels of organisation.
Coupled with the collaboration of BaBa Racing our target will be the top of the podium.
I’m very proud to be a part of it and I can’t wait to start the season!
Many thanks to Mr Gordon Cook and Massimo Roggiero.

Team Manager Gordon Cook is delighted to be running such an experienced competitor this year:

The UIM F2 World Championship just got real for me!
I’m very excited to have put this deal together with the sponsors and Ivan to drive the BaBa for Gordon Cook Racing.
We will start testing in Italy in a few weeks to ensure that we are a serious contender for the Championship.

BaBa mastermind Massimo Roggiero said:
I’m very pleased that Ivan has the opportunity to show that he is professional and a very fast driver after being away from the sport for a few seasons.
Cook told me from BaBa’s factory in Busto Arsizio:
Now the search is on for a second driver to join our team!
