Team Abu Dhabi, led by the legendary Guido Cappellini, is gearing up for a major comeback in the upcoming races with the return of four-time World Champion Alex Carella from Italy and three-time F1h2o World Champion Shaun Torrente from Miami, Florida.
Currently in 7th position with only 27 points in the team championship, Cappellini acknowledges the need for strong decisions to be made to get back on the podium.
“It’s been a disaster for me,” says Cappellini. “We need to shake things up and bring in the two strongest drivers in the history of the sport, aside from myself.”
Shaun Torrente expressed his excitement to return to the team, stating that he is honored to be back and will do everything in his power to help Team Abu Dhabi climb back up the rankings.
While Alex Carella was not available for comment, the team is hopeful that their combined experience and skill will lead them to success in the upcoming race in Olbia, Italy. Cappellini believes that with the fast boats at their disposal and a bit of luck, the team can secure a spot on the podium.
In addition to the driver changes, Thani Al Qamzi will remain on the team as an advisor after achieving an incredible milestone of 1000 F1 points. Rashed Al Qamzi and Alberto Comprato will be transitioning back to race in F2, allowing for a fresh dynamic within the team as they strive for victory in the upcoming races.
