After announcing that Ivan Brigada will join his UIM F2 World Championship team last Wednesday, Gordon Cook has today signed a second Italian driver, David Del Pin.

Del Pin has won World Championships in the F1000 class in 2008 and 2010 and also raced twice for the F1H2o Abu Dhabi Team.

Cook told me:

For the first race on the UIM F2 calendar, Lithuania, David will drive either the team’s Moore or BaBa hull.
Massimo Roggiero is preparing a new Baba hull which we are hoping will be ready for Aalborg in Denmark.

The team owner continued:

We hope to start a test programme as soon as Spring eventually arrives!

Del Pin told Powerboat Racing World this afternoon:

To be honest, I am very glad that Gordon has put his trust in me and I want to thank him.

When we agreed to team-up and compete in UIM F2 for the 2018 season, I was really pleased, as everyone knows, last year did not go as well as expected and I am sorry for that.

This new challenge, however, has recharged my batteries and now I feel really happy and determined.

In addition, the fact that I am Ivan’s team-mate, who I consider to be an excellent driver, can only help me to improve in order to become faster.

I don’t know what the future holds, but I’m sure that I will give my best as always, never give up and bring home the results!
