Did Larsson just save the season?

John Moore on 5th October 2020

UIM Race Director, Pelle Larsson has jumped through hoops to ensure that at least two Formula classes enjoyed world championships this year.

Working closely with organisers in Italy, Lithuania and Portugal and overseeing the racing at the events, the Swedish official has now seen world titles awarded in UIM F2 and F4.

Not many of us would have believed that possible back in April when many countries were locked down.

Larsson loved to race back in the day and wants to extend that opportunity to the current crop of competitors.

Added to the extra organisational difficulties that the elephant in the room has caused, Larsson has had to contend with weather conditions that have forced him to change the advertised timetables at a drop of a hat in Viverone and Portugal.

It’s been a memorable season not just for the racing but for a cool Swede beating the odds.
