The 2017 UIM F2 European Championship held in Kupiškis, Lithuania was run over 4 x 15 lap heats, Erik Edin needed only to compete in 3 of them.
After qualifying in pole, Edin went on to win the first 3 heats with ease, it was a text book weekend for the young Swede.
I am so proud of my team who makes everything work and a big thanks to my fiancee Marigona that always supports me!
Couldn’t be happier having all this good people behind me and I need to say, today I drove like a champ!
Edgaras Riabko who had worked tirelessly to ensure that this event took place, rewarded Lithuania with a Silver Medal.
We started just from 7th position and steadily rose to the Silver.
The second place completely satisfies me, I am very pleased.
It’s even more fun to climb on the podium in your country!
David Del Pin from Italy took a well deserved third.
His speed has not been in doubt this season, now he has Bronze medal to prove his racecraft.
The UIM F2 competitors now turn their attention back to the World Championship in Campione D’Italia on September 9th / 10th.
