Ferdinand Zandbergen took his first F1H2o victory in only his fifth start this afternoon in San Nazzaro.

Thani Al Qemzi and Shaun Torrente were second and third in the FIM Grand Prix of Italy.

Race

Jonas Andersson had a flying start but pole sitter Ferdinand Zandbergen maximized the benefit of his position to lead into lap one.

On Lap four Andersson encountered trim issues and lost speed, two laps later Bartek Marszalek dropped out and Alec Weckstrom was forced out on lap 20 with an engine issue.

The race went under yellow on lap 28 when Kalle Viippo broke down on the track.

A few laps later Zandbergen got a great re-start and kept the Team Abu Dhabi drivers, Thani Al Qemzi and Shaun Torrente behind him until the chequered flag.
