Jason Mantripp took a sensational OSY 400 pole position at Stewartby this afternoon just hours after his tow-vehicle dramatically caught fire at a service station 25 miles from the lake.
Mantripp put the earlier drama behind him and set a 01:06.33 lap time, .70 faster than Scott Goodings and 01.28 quicker than Thomas Cesny who was third.
The racer from East England has now got 4 heats to compete in before his boat is taken back to Lowestoft by another mode of transport.
