The Australian based Maritimo took a series of firsts in Dubai last weekend.

The pairing of Tom Barry-Cotter and Ross Willaton became the first team to win both the UIM XCAT Racing World Championship and the Pole Position World Championship.

They were the first team outside of the UAE to capture the titles and the Aussie designed and built hull was the first non Victory Team hull to win the XCAT Racing World Championship.

Maritimo’s lead designer Barry-Cotter said:

We competed in a brand new boat designed and built by Maritimo on the Gold Coast and first raced in Italy in Round one where it secured pole position and second place in Race 1 in its first outing.

We developed the boat all year, improving handling and speed.
