Pavia-Venice International Powerboat Raid, the 70th edition on 4 June.
Guido Cappellini is ready for the challange.
The organizers of the 70th edition of the Pavia–Venice International Powerboat Raid have announced that, despite the forced stop due to the lack of water to ensure the navigability of the Po river, the event will still go ahead and will take place on Sunday 4th June 2023.
With 150 teams set to compete from all over the world, 10 times F1 Powerboating World Champion Guido Cappellini, current team manager of Abu Dhabi, will be one of several notable competitors to take part in this historic event. Technical and administrative checks will take place on 2nd and 3rd June, whilst the pilots will meet at the Pavia Powerboat Association headquarters on the 3rd. Ahead of the race, participants will be transferred from San Nazzaro d‘Ongina to Boretto and will begin the timed race of approximately 60 minutes.
Optional refueling will be available in Correggio Micheli–Bagnolo San Vito, before the race comes to an end in Volta Grimana. Later the same day, those who make the podium will enjoy a victory parade from Brondolo up to the Venice Arsenale. Here, the ceremony will round off the event and mark the end of the Venice Boat Show.
PRW : Guido, 2nd attempt, with the DAC F1 – and 360 Mercury APX engine. What do u think of this years chances ?
The condition is now very good, we have a lot of water in the river Po, so we are working hard to set a perfect line. We are testing alot, and am very confident that we can break the record. Last year we was on good pace, when a small technical problem forced us to withdraw, thats all behind us – and we are ready for the 70th edition of the raid.
