Offshore racer, Filip Hoffman-Ringkvist will switch to circuit racing this season now that he has joined Marit Strømøy’s new team.
28 year old Hoffman-Ringkvist from Oslo will race in the F4-s championship, the support class for F1H2o.
The Norwegian who last raced in UIM Class 3A will be competing in a Strømøy Racing BaBa hull.
He said via a social media post today:
I’m very excited to start a new category of powerboat racing with the backing of a great team.
The F4-s series has been running since 2010 when Sweden’s Oskar Samuelsson won the inaugural championship with a cherubic Matthew Palfreyman winning for Britain a year later.
Mike Szymura took a hat-trick of titles in 2013,2014 and 2015 and Max Stilz gave Germany another win in 2019.
Norway have yet to win, can Hoffman-Ringkvist break the duck?
