Jelf Racing head to Chasewater

Chris Davies on 14th July 2017

After a very difficult time for the Jelf Racing Team, Ben Jelf, Jonathan Brewer, Nigel Edwards.and George Elmore will be competing at the Powerboat GP Chasewater Grand Prix this weekend.

Recovering from a racing accident at Stewartby a couple of weeks ago, team manager Colin Jelf will not be racing in F2;

It’s been a tough couple of weeks for the whole team following my accident, but we’re a strong team and we’re all in this together.
The drivers are all focussed on what they need to do this weekend and are ready for the challenge ahead of us.

The former UIM F2 World Champion commented on his GT15 driver George Elmore;

George has been performing really well this season he’s really got to grips with the boat and getting the best out of it and himself we’re all really proud of him.

Jonathan Brewer is representing the team in GT30;

Jonathan moved up a class this year so has taken a little time to adjust to the new boat and more powerful engine but he’s really beginning to make progress now and following a hard fought European championship to take 4th in a World class fleet we couldn’t ask for anymore, it’s a great achievement.

Commenting on his son, Ben, Jelf continued;

Ben has a new hull and the boats performing really well it will be the first British championship round that he’s competed in in the Lonnberg so whilst we know he’s getting better in the boat each time he goes out racing internationally you have nothing to gauge against where as we can log Ben and the boat’s progress against the rest of the British fleet as we know more about them.
Hopefully we can continue the team’s successes this weekend and secure some more silverware for our sponsors.
