Kiki gets it wong in the strong wind

John Moore on 7th December 2019

Kiki Wong was competing in her first powerboat race this morning.

The lady driver from Hong Kong who started from fifth on the grid got an amazing start and drove into second place on the first lap and was looking to challenge leader Miles Jennings.

By lap three, Campbell Jenkins got past her in the challenging conditions.

Kiki’s determined drive ended when she was caught out by a strong gust of wind and her boat spectacularly crashed out of the race.

She has been given the all clear by the doctors who were instantly on the scene, although sadly, she will have to spend the rest of the day as a spectator.
