Three-time World Champion Lebos Chaguri Wins Vice World Championship Marathon River in Mexico.

Brazilian pilot Lebos Chaguri with his team partner, Mexican Mauricio Scherrer, ended up winning the Vice World Championship Marathon River in the OB 3000 category at the World Championship Marathon River 2024, which takes place approximately every 3 years with a circuit of 650 km to 1,400 km in rivers.

It always happens in Colombia or Mexico because they have rivers with great difficulties, being the most famous boat endurance championship in the world equal to the Paris Dakar for cars. This year it took place in Mexico between the 12th and 18th of April with the last decisive stage with rapids and many rocks during its route on the Usumacita River in Tenosique – Tabasco where it has the most famous river rapids in boat competitions. Brazilian driver Lebos Chaguri, twice World Champion in the F 3000 Powerboat and once in the OB 3000, was the champion in the last World Championship Marathon River in the OB 3000 that took place in Colombia in 2021 with his team partner Santiago Zuluaga.

This year, he started by winning the 1st stage with his Mexican partner Mauricio Scherer, but throughout the stages he ended up in second place and despite breaking down during one of the stages, he remained in second place, winning the Vice World Championship.
