Macau Qualifying Postponed

John Moore on 3rd May 2019

Qualifying for the Macau Asia Powerboat Championship was postponed until tomorrow morning.

The Asia Powerboat Association (APA) ran 2 practice sessions today which gave the racers extra time to acclimatise to the Tohatsu powered, John Guille designed boats.

Australian, Campbell Jenkins competed in the APA Hong Kong race last November and he used that experience to set the fastest lap-time in the second free practice.

Miles Jennings used his vast racing experience to set the second quickest time, with retired Fire Fighter, Barry Culver just behind him.

Qualifying starts at 08:30 in the morning with a 3 lap shoot-out.

Norwegian, Mette Brandt Bjerknæs who impressed driving a mono hull for the first time since 2010, put in some quick laps and will be no doubt quicker after an overnight change of seating set-up.
