Cedric Deguisne will be a spectator at this Friday’s F1H2o race in Sharjah.
The French competitor was involved in a collision with Sami Selio in Abu Dhabi and was consequently given a double yellow card for dangerous driving.
Deguisne had until last night to protest the decision, he told me:
I looked at your photographer Mike Powell’s shots of the incident.
I needed to show that the red boat came on me and I moved my boat to avoid a collision.
After consideration, I’m not sure putting up 2000 Euro for a protest fee will change anything.
Sami Selio will also sit out the race, he posted on Facebook:
S*** happens…. But I am alive and quite OK… what a ”luck” I have?……
And what a disappointment it’s for me that he doctors don’t let me race so this season is over for me…. I don’t like it and we always want to fight to the end… but sometimes is better to listen and trust the doctors also.
