No stopping El Diablo

John Moore on 3rd September 2022

There is no stopping El Diablo as they stormed to another victory on the second day of the third Grand Prix of the 2022 Voomquest V2 Powerboat Championships in Cervia, Italy.

Weather conditions, particularly the sea swell, earlier on the day hampered practice efforts however the teams were able to complete their sessions. The forecast for the afternoon saw the race start an hour earlier and number of laps brought down to 9 from the originally planned 12.

There were no changes in placings from yesterday’s results, with Clive Butler and Sammy Grima’s El Diablo, continued to take maximum points once again.

Behind them were wild card entry Chaudron driven by Voomquest founder Aaron Ciantar and substitute co-driver Jurgen Camilleri after Ryan Micallef sustained minor injuries during yesterday’s race

Third place for the day’s podium was Interceptor Remax driven by Michael Xuereb and Sam Howes.

The GP3 concludes on Sunday 4th September.
