Mercedes-Benz World, on the famous Brooklands site in Weybridge, was the venue on Saturday evening for the Powerboat P1 annual awards dinner, with more than 150 racers, sponsors, partners and suppliers in attendance.

After race events in Scandinavia, Scotland and Wales, it was Sam and Daisy Coleman in the Pertemps Network boat (pictured) who were crowned P1 SuperStock UK champions for the second successive year.

Finishing just five points behind the Welsh brother and sister pairing was the Milford Waterfront team of Andrew Foster and Charles Morris, with Neil and Jason Jackson in third place for Experience Kissimmee.

The Rookie of the Year award went to father and daughter Dave and Ashleigh Finlayson from Scotland in the Spirit of Inverclyde boat.

Speaking after the awards presentations, P1 managing director Robert Wicks said:

New television broadcast agreements, significant growth in social media, innovative marketing activity and hugely competitive racing made for a memorable season.
Bumper crowds at our race events in Denmark and Scotland demonstrated powerboat racing’s unique appeal and its ability to attract significant audiences.
