Palfreyman is ready for Antwerp

John Moore on 22nd June 2017

2016 European Silver Medalist Matt Palfreyman went into the opening round of the 2017 UIM F2 World Championship in Lithuania with high hopes of a good result.

Halfway through the first lap in Kaunus, David Del Pin ‘T-Boned’ Palfreyman’s BaBa hull, causing significant damage and leaving the young Brit with zero points on the board and in equal measure, a potentially huge repair bill.

Palfreyman’s team feared that the hull was nearly past the point of repair as they wearily left the Lithuanian Pit area and made the long drive to Massimo Roggiero’s BaBa Racing factory in Busto, Italy.

After dropping off the UIM F2 hull in Italy, Palfreyman’s team headed straight to their home’s in Northern England – A mere 53 hour straight road trip, only stopping for fuel.

I asked Palfreyman this evening about the hull and would it be ready for the next round of the UIM F2 World Championship in Belgium?

BaBa have done an amazing job, I can’t believe that I will be racing that boat in Antwerp!
One thing I can tell you, I will not be using #13 as my race number again!

Palfreyman supplied me with a couple of photographs of BaBa’s work, (below).

Roggiero and his BaBa team are professional, committed and love the sport

There is nothing better than that.
