Powerboat GP exit British circuit racing

Powerboat GP the promoter of British circuit racing have today announced that they will be withdrawing their support of the 2018 RYA Championship with immediate effect.

Powerboat GP has been the official promoter for the last 7 racing seasons and was set-up by Jason Brewer.

After financial difficulties, Brewer handed the running of Powerboat GP over to Luke Jones who wrote today’s statement.

Powerboat GP were keen to be involved in the formation of a new National Governing Body following the the Royal Yachting Association’s decision that they will no longer act as the national authority for powerboat racing in the UK after this season.

However, the majority of British circuit clubs made it known that they did not want the promoter involved in the process.
