The first round of the UAE F4 Powerboat Championship organised by the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club was dominated by the ABRacing Watersports Team based in Jumeirah the coastal residential area of Dubai.
Quickest in Free Practice, Salem Alyafeai comfortably took pole position ahead of his team-mate Abubaker Al Marri, the leader and founder of ABRacing Team.
The ABRacing team is made up of water sports professionals with years of combined experience. The team has participated in several domestic and international competitions around the world achieving top ranks in both Jet ski, and power boat racing. Throughout the past few years, the team has achieved more than forty trophies in total.
Third on the start grid for race one was Hamadan Al Maflahi from the Align Team.
Making the perfect start from pole position was Alyafeai who led from lights out to the chequered flag, finishing the twenty laps around the course laid out at the Abu Dhabi Breakwater some nineteen seconds ahead of his team-mate Al Marri. Third place went to Ahmed Al Remeithi.
Race number two was once again controlled from front as Alyafeai made another perfect start to lead the field by the first turn. Not maintaining his lane was Mohammad Alhammadi, this resulted in him being given a one lap penalty. Twenty minutes later Alyafeai crossed the finish line to take maximum points. Such was his commanding lead that it was some forty-five seconds before Hamadan Al Maflahi came home in second place. Rounding out the top three was Al Marri.
