Stewartby Powerboat & Hydroplane Racing Club will be organising and hosting the 2021 CPA British Sprint Championships this weekend.

The event will feature five classes, F2, F4, OSY400, GT30, GT15 and is expected to attract around 30 entries.

Already confirmed in F2 are Ian Blacker, Sam Whittle, Leon Wigg with UIM international racers Mette Bjerknaes, Robin Stoddard and Steve Hoult adding experience to the field.

Jason Brewer will be making a surprise appearance in F4 and he will have Mike Pillow and David Gibbs as his opposition.

OSY 400 is shaping up for a decent battle between Jason Mantripp, Scott Goodings, Wayne Moyse, Tomas Cesnys and Brian Shulver.

The GT30 class includes teenagers from the age of 14 and has a healthy entry with Steve Olney, Caleb Jelf, Jon Haylock, George Elmore, Joseph Haylock, Darrel Hibbert and Ashley Penfold all entered.

George Elmore is keen to return to action after the enforced break due to the health crisis:

I can’t wait to get back on the water and racing!

I’ve got a great team behind me and I will be using the free practice and qualifying to full advantage to blow any cobwebs away and make sure the boat is set-up correctly for the races.

He will also be taking part in the GT15 racing against Jamie Atlee and lady racers Gracie Sampson, Oban Duncan and Abbie Haylock.

The on-water action is due to start at 10:00 on both days and the club are putting on a BBQ on Saturday evening with tickets priced at £6.00.
