Super Sacchi

Frode Sundsdal on 11th September 2022

Giacomo Sacchi took a lights to flag win in Ribadouro this afternoon, Sami Seliö was second and Brent Dillard third.

The race was run with a strong wind and it was a testament to the drivers that everyone kept the right way up.

Early retirements on lap 5 were Duarte Benavente and reigning World Champion Rashed Al Qemzi who has endured a more than frustrating 2022.

Mette Bjerknæs pulled out on lap 14 with a motor issue while a battle royale was taking place between British drivers Sam Whittle and Colin Jelf for 6th.

Jelf hunted Whittle for lap after lap until on the 37th tour he briefly stopped allowing the man in only his third UIM F2 race to relax and Mansoor Al Mansoori & Stefan Hagin pass him.

The championship decider will be held in Vila Velha de Ródão next Sunday with Al Mansoori, Seliö and Hagin separated by just 4 points
