Their helmets were originally popularised by F1 legend Michael Schumacher, who used the company’s products as world champion in the early 2000s. Schuberth helmets are currently being used by Max Verstappen, Carlos Sainz, and Sergio Perez.

The switch to Schuberth was introduced by Guido Cappellini who in his racing career used helmets made by Bell or Arai.  The SP1 Carbon is an exclusive, autoclave cured, carbon fibre shell masterfully handcrafted to provide a unique helmet combining light weight, solid construction, and superior safety, in their iconic design.

Now for me the best is Schuberth. Although it’s incredibly strong it’s also much lighter, which means it will help Al Qemzi with the high G-Force in the turns. Less stress on the driver in the race is a huge advantage. Every SP1 helmet is produced in their own factory in Italy, by the same hands that produce the masterpiece helmets used by several F1 motor racing drivers.

Al Qemzi was full of praise for his new helmet.

It’s perfect, way much better than the last one. At first it took a little time to get used to it but I can move my head around so much easier so I can get better visibility without getting a sore neck.

The three-times UIM F2 World Champion will start the Lithuanian Grand Prix from seventh spot after narrowly missing a place in the shoot-out on the demanding Kupiškis circuit.

The course was too crowded, and it was exceedingly difficult to set a good time, but I’ll push hard in the race, and everything is possible.

As always, Team Abu Dhabi is extremely well prepared and showed up in San Nazzaro, Italy for their European pre-season test sessions which will last for three days.

The racecourse for the F1H2O season opener in Macon, France has been laid out on the Po River and now Shaun Torrente has flown in from his home in Florida and Thani Al Qemzi his F1 team-mate has travelled with his fellow Emirati from Abu Dhabi.

It was not just the F1H2O guys that were here in Italy to test. UIM F2 World champion, Rashed Al Qemzi was joined by Mansoor Al Mansoori along with a pair of brand new UIM F2 DAC race boats.

When PRW asked Thani Al Qemzi about his ambitions for the coming season his answer was both quick and to the point.

To win the F1H2O Drivers and Team World Championship titles.

After his first time on the water, he spoke to us again.

As usual, the team has prepared an amazingly fast boat for me. First day of testing was incredibly good. We are satisfied.

Torrente told PRW

It’s always great to be back in the boat after a long break, that’s when you realise just how much you enjoy it. First day was good. We did what we came to do.

The opening round of this year’s F1H2O World Championship the Grand Prix of France-Mâcon Val de Saône takes place over the weekend of June 4 – 5.

This morning Brock spoke to PRW.

I simply ran out of time. The baby is yet to arrive but can be here any day, so this now takes priority and I have had to withdraw from the race regretfully but understandably.

However, it is not all bad news. Last week PRW confirmed that Brock’s DAC is already on its way to the track along with teammate and younger brother, Damon’s, BABA hull and equipment.

PRW can now exclusively announce that Will Parker will be piloting Brock’s boat in his absence.

Will Parker, alongside his father (Kevin) were a seriously competitive two boat team in Australia’s Formula 3 class from 2011 – 2017, with Will winning the National Championship in 2013.

Brock had this to say.

I went to Will Parker as we had both competed in the F3 class against each another for several years and I believe F3 is one of the best racing classes in the word and one of the hardest boats to drive at speed. I wanted someone in my boat that I could trust and a fellow F3 driver I can trust.

As Parker is making his debut in the Formula GP class, he will be regulated to start from the rear of the grid all weekend regardless of qualifying result. PRW can also confirm that the points are allocated to the driver not the boat, so he cannot collect points on Cohen’s behalf.

Parker told PRW.

This is a fantastic opportunity for me; however, I wish it were Brock racing this weekend due to him and Damon leading the championship, but I can’t deny that I am definitely excited that I get to race this weekend. The boy’s boats are fast, and their equipment is top calibre, they have done well.

Brock finished by saying.

We have put in so much effort and our sponsors are amazing to us, so it was really important to ensure regardless of my situation that we had both boats competing this weekend. I just need Parker to circulate and try take some points away from the other competitors and minimise how far I fall behind in the championship by missing this race. The most important thing however is that Damon has a solid weekend and comes away leading the championship – if I get any chance, I could sleep easier at night knowing I’ve lost the lead to him.
