Torrente’s Job Just Got Harder

John Moore on 15th December 2018

Shaun Torrente who currently leads the 2018 UIM F1H2o World Championship, qualified in 7th position for the Grand Prix of Sharjah on Thursday – The final race of the season.

Torrente missed out on getting through to Q3 with electrical failure, he said after the session:

Everything was going to plan and we were going forward in Q2.

I knew I needed to be quicker but we lost the dash, the trim, we lost everything. I came in directly because we cannot run like that.

We tried to put a new battery in and nothing worked at all.

After the Sharjah qualifying session, his Abu Dhabi engineers put the problem down to a faulty batch of batteries purchased by the team, they also felt this hampered Torrente in the previous race where he could only finish 6th.

This morning, the title challenger learned in Drivers Briefing of the introduction of a demarcation buoy for those sitting in P7 to P17, while the top six would head straight for the commitment buoy.

It isn’t getting any easy for the Floridian.
