UIM F4 – 3 British teams travel to Finland

John Moore on 13th June 2017

This week Ben Jelf and fellow Brits Ben Morse and Sam Whittle travel to Imatra, Finland for the opening round of the 2017 UIM F4 World Championships.

Around 20 teams will compete for the first of 3 rounds in the 2017 campaign, the line-up also includes Finland’s Juho-Matti Manninen, the reigning UIM F4 World and European Champion.

Jelf commented;

The team have put a lot of effort into my World Championship challenge this year.
There are top class racers in the fleet including Brit Ben Morse who claimed bronze at the European Championships last year and of course the defending Champion.
In previous World Championships I have competed in, it’s been a competition run over one weekend with no room for error, the 2017 UIM F4 championship is a series of races over six individual days at different venues.

John Donnelly will be overseeing Whittle’s weekend;

We have been developing the new F4 Baba hull for a couple of months now and are so pleased with the results that we have grown matching beards for Finland.

Adrian Morse will be Team Manager for his son Ben;

It’s a great opportunity for Ben and the team to go to Finland, we have also signed up UIM F2 pilot Matt Palfreyman to help.
As he has a face for radio, we have found him the perfect job!
