Chris Davies on 3rd September 2018

The Victory Team have announced their new UIM F4-S driver today, Ali Al Lanjawi.

Huraiz Bin Huraiz, Chairman of the Victory Team was at hand to unveil the dual jet-ski Asian Games champion along with other members of the board of directors at the team’s headquarters.

Bin Huraiz explained the decision:

For us, this is a coup as we seek to build up our water sport profile for the future.
We saw what Ali was capable of while competing for the UAE at last month’s Asian Games in Jakarta.
He’s got a momentum going and I am sure he is destined for even greater triumphs in the world of UIM F4-S racing.

The 37-year-old Al Lanjawi opened with a gold medal in the Runabout Limited category and then came back strongly on the third day while adding a silver in the Runabout Open Endurance Race as the UAE ended with their best-ever medal haul at an Asian Games with 14 medals including three gold, six silver and five bronze.

Bin Huraiz continued:

I think this latest signing is a win-win situation for all concerned.
The Victory Team gets a new driver and the sport benefits with new talent that will sustain it for the future.

For us at Victory Team, it is always about the future.

These have been exciting times as we attempt a total restructuring and re-building of our water sports portfolio at Victory Team.

I am confident that this latest signing will take the team back to glory days that we have been used to.

Bin Huraiz concluded:

Ali will join our very talented young team of riders and racers who have been the true ambassadors of Victory Team, Dubai and the UAE all over the world.

Al Lanjawi is set to make his F4-S debut in Xiangyang, China over the weekend of 21 – 23 this month.
