What of the UIM F2 World Championship?

John Moore on 5th October 2018

The UIM F2 World Championship has one more round to race in Sri Lanka.

Currently 21-year-old Italian, Alberto Comparato leads the 2018 Championship by 18 points from Team Abu Dhabi’s Rashed Al-Qemzi.

The final event is poised to be a cracker, the young pretender and the reigning World Champion to battle it out on the Beira Lake on December 1st.

However, as yet the Lanka Powerboat Association have not confirmed shipping details for the UIM F2 boats, accommodation for officials and competitors or that dredging work has been undertaken to comply with UIM Water Approvals.

If the race doesn’t go ahead, Comparato’s 5th place at the Grand Prix of Portugal last month will have given him the 2018 title and he will have to celebrate at home in Chioggia with a glass of Trentodoc.
