Will Lundin race UIM F2 this season?

Chris Davies on 6th March 2017

On Saturday evening the world of powerboat racing came together to recognise the achievements of the best in the sport at the eighth edition of the Union Internationale Motonautique Word Champions Awards Giving Gala.

UIM President Dr Raffaele Chiulli said;

I consider the annual awards ceremony to be by far one of the most important dates on our calendar.
The 2016 UIM World Champions from as far afield as Columbia and New Zealand come together under one roof. The evening allows us to recognise their dedication, commitment and sacrifices, as well as their undoubted racing talent.

Amongst the dozens of world-class competitors present at the iconic Sporting Monte-Carlo venue in Monaco were the Lundin F1 Racing team of Christian Bubben Lundin, Roland ‘Rolle’ Sjögren and Conny Sjögren, who were there celebrating the fact that Pierre Lundin had retained his F2 World Championship title.

Joining Lundin on stage for the presentation were Giacomo Borgonovi, President UIM Formula 2 Committee and Zorica Hofman, Secretary General of the International Federation of American Football.

Prior to the evening presentation Lundin had confirmed that plans are currently underway for him to race again this season, though he wasn’t prepared to say too much about the two projects.

I wish I could tell you more, but my brother Christian and I need a few more weeks to check all the details before I can tell you anymore.
One thing is for certain and that is if we do come back then we will be more competitive than last season.

We will see just how ready for action this new team will be when the 2017 UIM F2 World Championship season gets under way in Kaunas, Lithuania in early June.
