Italian competitors dominated the second round of the 2022 UIM XCAT World Championship held in Fujairah today.
Matteo Niccolini and Tomaso Polli steered SIX to the race win, with fellow countrymen Roberto Lo Piano and Giampaolo Montavoci taking third.
Italy’s Giovanni Carpitella was racing with Aussie Darren Nicholson in 222 Offshore and they secured second overall.

A happy winner, Matteo Noccolini said

There was only one strategy, to stay in front throughout the race.

Taking a well-earned third place Giampaolo Montavoci said

This was a reliable performance from us today in complicated weather conditions. I’m happy with this for sure. Now we head back to race in Italy and we just can’t wait.
