Vice Commodore of the Bermuda Power Boat Association, Kim McCallan was involved in a racing incident during the Rubis Around the Island Race today.

Kim, Powerboat Racing World’s Bermuda correspondent, was taken to hospital after her D Class Skater cat, piloted by Howard Ascento, flipped near Five Star Island.

Taking part in the race for the first time as a co-pilot, she was thrown out of the Yamaha powered cat’s cockpit.

She was taken ashore taken to hospital for treatment for a cut above an eye and a bruised shoulder and is expected to be released soon.

Powerboat Racing World wishes Kim a speedy recovery.
