Shaun Torrente saved his best lap for last

Tony Blom-Pettersen on 23rd September 2022

Shaun Torrente posted a 41.09 lap time in Q3 this afternoon to take pole for tomorrow’s Grand Prix of Regione Emilia Romagna.

Sami Seliö was 0.16 slower than the American and Phillipe Chiappe was third quickest with a broken propeller.

Reigning world champion Jonas Andersson was fourth fastest with last year’s winner, Thani Al Qamzi, fifth.

PRW spoke to Alberto Comparato who starts the race from sixth:

I damaged the battery cable, so the engine simply stopped.

The pole sitter Torrente told us:

The computer said I have .2 tenths to go, but I’m proud of the team.

They are amazing.

PRW also spoke to Marit Strømøy:

I’m really pissed off.

It just doesn’t get fast enough, and we have no idea where to find the last second.

Frustrating…
